The highlight of the week was definitely when it got up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. But still, that's cold for me. We're getting by.
Sad part of the week: a member got into a pretty bad car accident last weekend. He's a young father, and apparently it's pretty serious. But, seeing the ward council get together and make a plan to help a family in need is a definite testimony builder.
Our investigator Santos went back to Honduras yesterday, so we visited her one last time on Monday. She made us some good comida hondureña, and we shared a quick lesson and made sure she knows where to find the church in her country. Whoever the missionaries are in that ward right now will be excited to meet her. She's ready to be baptized for sure.
This week I've learned a lot about really listening to people. As missionaries, when we have people we are teaching who need the gospel, sometimes people talk a lot. And all we need to do is listen. Sometimes it's hard not to think about what we can say to resolve their doubts or questions, but if you really listen to people, the spirit will help you know what to say. It's a struggle. My missionary friends will understand. But that's what works.
Today for our preparation day we went to the temple, and we're getting ready to hike to a giant cross and monastery in our area, where Francisco Franco is supposedly buried. It's called Valle de los Caídos. I'll attach pictures and send them.
