Halloween

Happy November everyone!

We've been super busy this last week and a half, which is something that I like as a missionary. Half of what we do is actually helping the people in our area, and the other half has to do with what President Pack wants us to do for the mission as zone leaders, which I don't mind. I love being able to serve within the church.

Some of the main things that happened this week:

Last Saturday the branch had a family history activity where some specialists came and helped everyone with their family tree. We got to help the people who were just getting started (some recent converts and some non members) and everything that my mom and grandma taught me came back to me. After the classes there was a branch lunch where everyone brought some food. We brought chicken noodle soup and brownies, and even though people really liked the soup, the brownies were more popular.

We also had a YSA halloween activity, which was a lot of fun. There was a short spiritual thought, then we played some games, and ate food. A lot of the people we're teaching came, which we were really happy about.

Our investigator Madelin had her baptismal interview last Saturday, and she passed. She came out of it feeling really happy, and excited for her baptism. In the past couple weeks, we've been able to help her a lot and it's great to see how much the gospel is changing her. She was at the branch activity, and multiple members told her that she looked a lot happier. As long as everything goes well, we'll have her baptism this Saturday.

I can testify that God loves us, and that he has everything under control. A lot of times it's easy to fall into despair and feel like there's nothing we can do but wait for hard times to pass, but I've seen again and again that He pushes us to our limits and that's where we see miracles in our lives. If this life were easy, it wouldn't be worth it. We can be happy through difficulties in our lives, thanks to the atonement of Jesus Christ and the gospel. I think that's one of the hardest things for us to learn and apply, but I'm glad that I'm here so that I can see other people live it, and learn it for myself.

I hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Corey
