Final transfer!

Helloooo everyone!
So some of you might have already heard this through the grapevine, but we got the transfer email on Saturday night, and I'm going to Canary Islands for my last transfer! For my last six weeks, I'll be in a town called Telde, on the main island, Gran Canaria. I have a three hour plane trip down to the islands tonight, so next week I'll let you all know how that goes.

I honestly wasn't expecting the change, I expected to spend my last six weeks in Villalba. I guess God has different ideas for me. I'm excited to be in the islands for just a little bit of time. Villalba has been a great area. I love the people I've met here so much.

On Saturday morning, we had a lesson with a Peruvian couple we're teaching, Ernesto and Kari. They have a 6 yr old daughter named Luciana. They came to Spain about a year ago because their daughter has some medical problems and they didn't get good enough treatment in Peru. Ernesto was baptized when he was a kid, and most of his family are members, but he was inactive when he moved here. Ernesto was happy to be meeting with us, but it seemed like Kari was just there to listen because it was interesting. We would invite her to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it but she never really had a motivation to. On Saturday morning, we asked if she had read, and she said yes, and she started telling us about how she read about Nephi and his brothers, and she even applied it to her own life. We had planned something else, but we talked a bit about our purpose as missionaries and shared James 1:5-6. We promised her that if she asked God faithfully for wisdom and guidance, she would receive it. Then she went the extra mile and, she talked about the part in verse 6 that says that we shouldn't be like the waves of the sea, which are tossed about and have no control. By the end of the lesson, she was the one telling us that she needed to pray to find out if this church is true, so that she could be firmer in her personal faith. We didn't follow our lesson plan, but the Lord blessed us with what to say in the moment we needed it. Their whole family came to church for the first time the next day, and they loved it.

Sorry that that was a long story, but experiences like that are what make me love being a missionary the most. Being able to see people change and come closer to our Heavenly Father, and to learn more about simple truths like being able to pray for guidance.
This week in general was a good one. We helped a Colombian family in the ward move apartments on Thursday, we retrieved the Hermanas' apartment keys after they dropped them down a drain in the street while they were running in the morning(that's an entertaining call to get at 8am), we visited members and other investigators, and I enjoy every bit of it.

I love you all and hope you have a good week! The Book of Mormon is true, and it is a powerful witness of Jesus Christ that can help each one of us in our lives.
