Another transfer gone! Elder Jones and I are staying together in Villalba for another 6 weeks. It's gonna be a good time. Even though the work here is going a little slow, there is a lot of potential that we're starting to find. The ward here is doing great. We're trying to get to know more of the members, because there are some that I haven't visited or really talked to a ton since I've been here. There are a lot of great people in the ward, but it's hard because our area is spread out among a bunch of pueblos near the sierra. But missionary work is a lot easier and a lot more effective when the members are involved, so it's worth it.
This week we've also been working on setting goals each day for simple things, like how many copies of the Book of Mormon we want to give out, or how many new people we want to teach, etc. And it's made a difference. Even if we don't always reach those goals, we've seen miracles because of the difference of our attitude and our efforts. For example, trying to find someone at the top of a huge hill that takes a half an hour to climb, them not being home, and later having a dinner appointment with a member who surprised us by inviting a family friend over to meet us. Even if we're not missionaries, as we set goals in our life and strive to meet them, the Lord multiplies our efforts.
English classes here are fun. We meet some really cool people through them. Not all of them would talk to us if we had approached them on the street, but because of this service, they become our friends. And it's a simple way to introduce them to at least the idea of the church.
Preparation day today: we went to El Escorial, a pueblo, and explored some trails on the hills right beside it. Pictures included
Hope you all have a fantastic week!
Love,
Elder Dobbs
