Finding Peace

Good morning tri-state area!

It hasn't been too long since I last wrote, so this week will be brief.
Ilumina el Mundo! Light the World! It's been a lot of fun. We're here doing what we can as missionaries like visiting members who are sick or giving out water bottles to people on the street and other creative ideas.

This week we also went on intercambios to Barrio 1, which is near the middle of Madrid. I've been there before, back when I was in Salamanca, but it's interesting to go back with different people. I went with Elder Baide, a missionary from Honduras who looks Polynesian. He's a funny guy and a good missionary.

We have an investigator from Romania named Claudia. She owns her own second hand clothes store really close to where I live, and we stop by there to teach her little by little. We had a really good lesson with her yesterday. We talked about the Spirit and how she will receive an answer for herself to know that the church is true, and she described the Spirit as a peaceful feeling that she gets after reading from the Book of Mormon, praying, and meeting with us. Near the end, she said something really nice, something like "you as missionaries are doing what you need to. you've helped me find more peace in my life." Always a great feeling when people are helped by what we do.

It's getting cold here. Really cold. It's different from my last winter in Spain because now we're a little more in the mountains. We can see snow from our piso window, and hopefully it will still be there in a few weeks and we can take a p-day to go and see the snow.

This Friday we have our Christmas zone conference, which will include a talent show afterwards. Through an indirect request by President Pack, I asked some members if I could bring a cello there. They said yes, so next week you'll hear more about that. We also have a ward activity on Saturday, where all the members will be performing different things. We still don't know what we're going to do. More on that next week.

Hope you all enjoy the holiday season!
Love,
Elder Dobbs
