This week has been great. It started off with zone conference last Tuesday, which was my last one. It was also my mission president's last one here in the Canary Islands, so it was really special. We had 6 extra missionaries stay in our apartment for a couple nights, because they came in from other islands, and that was really fun. We got to work with them in our area for a bit too, and it was really inspiring to see so many other missionaries being in the same area and all working in different ways to find people, whether it being knocking doors, talking to people on the street, or going into small shops and talking to the owners, or even communicating with people on Facebook.
We saw a lot of big miracles this week. There are always miracles that happen, small ones every day, but the big ones are the most exciting and inspiring.
We're teaching an American woman named Hillary who lives here with her German husband and their kids, who are super nice. They found the church online and had a lot of questions about doctrine, which the church is able to answer. We got a whatsapp message from her the other day where she said "I read somewhere that the Book of Mormon can answer questions we have about the Bible, and I experienced that tonight as I was reading the Book of Mormon, and I was wondering if you have any other examples of that."
You can't get more sincere than that. It's awesome to see when people actually find answers through the Book of Mormon, but it's true!
Our investigators Ignacio and Maria are awesome. They both came to church yesterday, for the first time since we began teaching them in the last month. That night we went over to their house with some members who are already really good friends with them. We got there, and we asked them how church was. The whole time they talked about how they felt the spirit and left feeling full of peace and happiness. They've felt the same over the years as they have come to church, and they've felt the difference as they haven't. Basically, they got to the same conclusion as they always have. That this church is the only one that fills them spiritually. They already know all the doctrine, and they've prayed so much about the Book of Mormon. And yesterday, talking about all of this, they finally agreed to be baptized!! I'm so happy for them because they will be great members. They're the type of people that won't do something unless they're serious about it.
I love the mission and all the miracles you see every day, and best of all, the changes you see in your own life and in the lives of others. It's a difficult process, but with the Lord, anything is possible.
Love,
