Visit to Segovia

Hello everyone!
Currently I am writing you from the city of Segovia. For those of you who haven't heard of Segovia, don't worry, because I hadn't heard of it before I came here either. It was founded by the Romans when they had conquered Spain. The 3 highlights of the city are a really cool looking aqueduct that the Romans built, a Catholic cathedral (like every other big Spanish city), and a castle. The weirdest part is that we got lunch at McDonalds and you can look outside and see the aqueduct and the ancient city walls. It's super cool.

Anyway, Valladolid now has two more missionaries. Elder Simmons is training Elder Kraut, a new missionary. They're both cool, and they're loving the city.

One of the people we're teaching is Jorge. He's a Spanish guy in his early twenties, and at first he seemed like someone who wasn't going to get baptized, but a couple weeks ago we lost contact with him, and when he came back he said he had completely given up alcohol and tobacco in that week. Now we're just making sure he understands everything before he gets baptized. We taught him about tithing this week, and at first it was hard for him to understand, but  it was awesome to see how as we did our best to explain it, the spirit helped him realize its importance. By the end of the lesson he was willing to pay tithing as soon as he got baptized.

We also met with Madelin a couple more times this week. She's going through a rough spot with her job, but she's continuing strong. She tells us about how she prays every night, and receives so much peace just from pouring her heart out to the Lord. This last Sunday she fasted for help with her job, and now she's persevering, doing her best to find a new one. She has encountered a lot of opposition, but she's one of the most faithful investigators I've known. She's an example of faith and diligence to me.

I love you all and hope you have a swell week!
