Buenos días everyone!
We've had a good week here in Spain. We spent a lot of time trying to meet with people, but half of those lessons fell through (which is normal) so we of course spent a lot of time finding people, and we had great experiences with both of those.
Finding: last Tuesday we had an hour before our last lesson of the day, and we were trying to talk to people on the street. We couldn't decide exactly where we wanted to go, so we sat down and said a prayer. After thinking for a moment, we both had the thought at the same time to go down one street. We went and started talking to everyone, and by the third person, we met a woman from the Canary Islands. Elder Waters had served on the same island she was from, so they got along right away. We sat down on a bench with her as we were talking and explained the Restoration to her. She had some good questions and she was really interested. Sadly, she's going to stay in the Canaries for a few weeks (people here in Spain go on vacation for so long) but we're hoping we can stay in contact with her until she gets back. Even so, it was a super cool way that we saw the Holy Ghost guide us to someone.
Teaching: We met with Madelin again, and this time she was saying that she wanted to postpone her baptismal date a month later, because she was having trouble finding a job and stuff like that. She's pretty much ready, and we didn't want her to wait, so in the lesson we shared a talk by Henry B Eyring called "This Day" which is a bomb talk. We talked about how baptism will help her, and thanks to the Spirit, she changed her mind. I love the scripture in D&C that says "If ye have not the spirit, ye shall not teach" because it's so true. In our lives, and especially in the Lord's work, if we do something without the spirit, it'll be a lot harder.
Today we're on our way down to Madrid, because tomorrow we have the mission Concilio (idk what the exact name would be in English). We're going to talk about the smartphones we're getting and Facebook and how to use them. We're going to be in Madrid for a few days because we also have to renew our residency.
Have a great Monday today!
-Elder Dobbs
