New Companion

Hello everyone!
Last week I wrote a longer email but then it got lost in cyberspace somehow. And only a couple of photos made it through. So here's a quick review of the past 2 weeks.

Firstly, on our preparation day 2 weeks ago, we went to Pavones to play basketball with some other missionaries. My old companion Elder Waters finished his mission that week so we got to say bye to him. Our mission president, President Pack, and his son came too, which was fun. Afterwards we went to a restaurant called Tierra. It's basically Chipotle, and it's delicious.

The other pictures from that week are from saying goodbye to people with Elder Jones, who left last Monday. This week has been introducing my new companion, Elder Christensen, to the area, and having the same conversation with people about what a surprise it is that I'm still here. I'm happy to still be here, it's a great area.

My new companion, Elder Christensen, is from Orange County. Just imagine a typical Southern Californian, and that's him. He surfs, plays the guitar, and he had long blond hair before the mission. I like being with him. It's nice to talk about home with someone.

In our first week together here, we've seen some awesome miracles. We met with a couple of new people who are really interested in listening to us and who really want to fill their lives with the gospel. In our first lesson lesson with a man from Chile, Francisco, and his mom, Elena, he told us that he had gone through a lot in his life and he wanted to change. I said something simple, like "through Jesus Christ, our past mistakes can be washed away completely, as if they had never happened," and he got really emotional. The spirit was very strong in that lesson, because of their humility and willingness to learn. After the last few months, where we haven't had a lot of people to teach here in Villalba, we're finding some really great people. I'm excited.
Ending with that, I testify that because of Jesus Christ, we can begin again, and repent of our mistakes. He loves each and every one of us.
I hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Dobbs
