Sharing testimonies

Hey everyone!
Since it hasn't been a full week since I wrote home, this won't be such a long email.
But first big news, Happy Mother's Day again to everyone! Yesterday we got to skype with our families and it was great! A good day for missionaries everywhere, and a very busy day for skype personnel.
Yesterday was also our fast and testimony meeting here because, the week before, the branch went to Leon for the district conference (a district conference is the equivalent of stake conference, but in a place where there are only branches and not wards). Funny story from this last Sunday, even though I don't know if my companion wants me to share it. I'm 90% sure he won't find out and, if he does, he'll be a good sport about it. He got up to share his testimony at the end of sacrament meeting and, to begin, he mentioned that it was Mother's Day in the U.S., so he thanked all the mothers in the ward. He tried to say thanks for all the mothers who feed us, but accidentally said thanks for all the mothers who eat us. People laughed as they realized his mistake, and someone sitting close to where he was standing corrected him.
This past week we also had piso (apartment) inspections again! We passed with flying colors, because we're awesome. Also, we are enjoying a piso that was cleaner than it was when we got here.
Today for our p-day we rented bikes and rode around Salamanca! It was fun and pretty, and the first time I've ridden a bike since before my mission. The missionaries here don't have the privilege of using bikes to get around, and today we learned why as we tried traveling both on small, narrow streets full of people, and wider streets full of cars going twice as fast as us. It's just not as convenient as walking or taking the bus. All the same, it was a fun morning.
The missionary work here is going very well. We're getting better at being diligent in finding people to teach, and the members are helping us out a lot. It's a great time to be in the Salamanca branch, for which I am very grateful. This week we met a roommate of a recent convert in Cantabria, Ivan, from Venezuela, who is a cool guy. We all ate arepas, a food from Colombia and Venezuela, and got to talk a little about the Book of Mormon, which he accepted. Also, a different member's cousin just moved from Madrid, and he's living in their house. He's a 20 year old from El Salvador, and he's a humble guy. We met with him, and he's interested too. We're excited for the future of Salamanca.
This week I want to invite you all to be more active about sharing your testimony, whether it be next fast Sunday or in some other occasion. Yesterday, in the fast and testimony meeting here, a lot of people shared their testimonies, from primary kids to the oldest member in the branch, and there was a special spirit there for us all. The opportunity to share our testimony is very helpful for strengthening it. I'm grateful for this gospel and for everything that it provides for me personally, and the way it has blessed my life and the lives of the people I know and love. I hope you all have a great week!

Skyping with my family for Mother's Day

I ran into my friend from home, Bridger Allan, last week in Madrid!  He is currently in the Madrid MTC and was playing soccer outside when we were coming out of the temple!
