Not as much has happened since I wrote home last. We had the first two missionary choir concerts in Madrid. It's kind of hard because it takes in total about 2 hours to travel there and back, with waiting for trains and buses and all that, but it's really cool. Last Thursday was our first performance. We sang in Sol, which is this area in the very center of Madrid. It's basically the Times Square of Spain, but not as big. Last Thursday was a holiday here, so that night it was crowded, like shoulder to shoulder, as we were trying to walk around. We ended up setting up by a fountain and it went really well. I don't have any pictures of us singing, but I do have some pictures of the place. Then last night we went to the Plaza Mayor, which is a 5 minute walk from Sol. It's exactly what it sounds like, a big old-fashioned plaza. We went there while I was in the MTC, but it was different at night and with Christmas decorations and a bunch of booths set up to sell Christmas things. Singing that night went really well too. Both nights we had a decent sized crowd of people who were stopping to watch us and there were a couple missionaries who weren't singing who were able to talk to people in the crowd and answer questions and find people interested.
Besides that, not much has happened this week. On Saturday morning we helped a family in the ward paint their living room, which was kind of fun. The father of the family isn't a member, but his mother-in-law, who lives with them, invited us to help them out, and now the father is really friendly with us.
Everyone here is excited for Rosa Maria's baptism this Saturday. It's going to be a really fun day because the baptism is at 12, then that night at 6 they're having the ward Christmas dinner. Planning for the baptism is going well, and I'm especially excited because my trainer, Elder Molina, is visiting from Barcelona to baptize her. Rosa Maria wanted the bishop here to do it, but he's still stuck in bed because of his broken back accident that happened a few weeks ago, so after that we decided on having Elder Molina do it.
Anyway I hope you all have an awesome week! I love you all!
Love,
Elder Dobbs
